All group activities such learn to play courses, taster sessions, U3A sessions, club
tournaments and social events are suspended. Only members are to attend the club.
The club will provide sufficient means for the washing of hands and the wiping of equipment,
seating, the toilet area and other contact points, and a bin for safe disposal.
One unisex toilet (the larger one on the right) will be available for
All equipment has been packed away, except for equipment trolleys which will be left out in
the clubhouse when not in use, facing the windows to maximise exposure to ultraviolet light.
Members will not attend the club if they have a new continuous cough, fever and/or loss of smell/taste, or come from a household
that is isolating because somebody else in the household has symptoms.
The club will lay out and maintain two FULL SIZE COURTS only (and
not the smaller half size lawns).
Play is restricted to SINGLES PLAY ONLY (no doubles), so only two
people may play together.
Double banking on the full-size courts is permitted, providing the two games follow the
usual croquet etiquette of playing the same route around the hoops and maintaining 2 hoops apart.
The number of members attending the club is restricted through the use of
an ON-LINE BOOKING system and members will must not attend unless they have pre-booked. The booking system will replace the paper attendance diary.
Members will not congregate at the club, arriving and departing promptly according to their
booking. Only 1 person at is allowed in the clubhouse at a time.
The lawns will be maintained twice each week and Matt will try to do this in the mornings
and work around any bookings. Play is not permitted during maintenance.
Players will observe usual etiquette and keep at least 2 metres (2 yards) between them
during their play. Scoring clips will not be provided.
Players will not shake hands after each game, but will convey their appreciation through
other means (such as prayer hands, bow/curtsey, a loud thank you, etc…).
Socially distanced one-to-one coaching sessions may continue, providing these sessions are
booked on the on-line system as above.
Players must wash or sanitise their hands in the clubhouse on arrival and at the end of
play. They must wipe down the equipment, seating, toilet area and other contact points (as used) with the bleach spray provided. The bleach spray is not to be used on the croquet balls or mallet
heads, which can be cleaned with warm soapy water instead.
