New Players

As with most sports and pastimes, there are a number of variants of croquet. But most of them involve hitting a pair of balls with a mallet through 6 hoops in a certain order. We mainly play association and golf croquet at Leicester Croquet Club.

Our new players start with Golf Croquet where you and the person you are playing against hit a pair of balls twice round the 6 hoops. The first player to run 7 of the hoops is the winner. If it is a 6-6 draw at Hoop 12, then it's off to the bonus hoop for the decider. Games usually take about 30 minutes to play.

All you need to play is flat soled shoes (no heels), a water bottle and sun/rain.
